Overcoming Weight Problems And Other Eating Disorders
Overweight?
Being over what is considered a normal weight is quite a problem for many people. Over the years that weight does creep up and now there are constant reminders of the health risks attributable to being overweight.
Maybe you have tried dieting and it has been great for a while because you lost the excess you wanted to lose. But what about the frustration you felt when the weight started to creep back. Is it possible the enthusiasm for continuing to diet was lost, may be there was never enough time to exercise to help with the weight loss, may be you fell back into old habits of snacking, grazing, eating up the left overs, or maybe enjoying a particular food and eating it too excess; bread, cream cakes, chips, take aways, convenience foods. Haven't we all being there!
Before we know it the bad thoughts creep in making us feel even worse; 'I'm hopeless, I'll never lose weight, what's the use of trying, I'm resigned now to never again be as slim as I used to be'. Then of course feeling quite low, miserable and sad about yourself we carrying on doing the same things as before, no energy to change the habits of a life time, no motivation, the eating cycle starts again.
But no, wait a moment what can we do here. By careful questioning with cognitive behavioural therapy and uncovering all the difficulties surrounding your eating habits and then recognising them for what they are. Thus, giving you the support and help and so using a combination of counselling therapy with hypnotherapy to communicate with the deeper unconscious mind that can put you back in control you can manage and enjoy a more healthier and well balanced approach to your weight control.
Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating and Night Eating Syndrome
These disorders are of a medical nature and I would only consider treatment in agreement concurrent with your Medical Practitioner, as there are many medical aspects both in the pursuance and recovery of these disorders and I would suggest that you may well need medication to help you during the recovery period.
For those of you who suffer these complaints know the characteristics of the actual disorder. However, it is also the psychological aspect that can be equally harmful, worrying and disturbing not only to you but those close to you who know about your difficulties.
You know the effects of that paralysing low self esteem, the constant low mood, those feelings of hopelessness and guilt, the irritability you feel about yourself and everything in general, the loneliness of the illness, the insomnia and even in the extreme, suicidal thoughts.
All these thoughts and feelings arise from deep down inside you and come from possible some emotional anxiety or trauma from your past, that still needs to be dealt with to help your recovery from the disorder.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy combined with Hypnotherapy is a very helpful way forward to assist you on the path to better health and a more hopeful future.
